What is the PTA doing for Wiley Elementary and your students? Here are just a few of the bigger grants that the Wiley PTA made to Wiley Elementary over the last several years.
Kiln for the Art Room
The PTA wrote a Grant for $2,500 so the Art Room could purchase a new, working kiln and some clay supplies. A kiln had previously been used in the art room, but it was unusable, and the funds to purchase a new kiln were not available through the school district. By combining what the school district could provide with the grant from the PTA, the art room was able to get the kiln up and running with plans to incorporate it in even more curriculum in the coming years.
Hand Chimes for the Music Room
The PTA wrote a Grant for $1,000 so the Music Room could purchase another octave of hand chimes. Each octave that is purchased opens up more musical possiblities. By combining what the school district could provide with the grant from the PTA, the music room was able to get another octave added to the hand chimes during the 2012-2013 school year.
C.O.W., Chrome Books, and Technology
A C.O.W. (computers on wheels), Chrome books, Desktop computers and more have been provided via grants over the years. The PTA is actively involved in keeping technology up to date and available to every student at Wiley.
